How to Request a Shoe Sole Quotation: Models, Sizes, Colors and Quantity

KAJA · Sourcing Guide

A useful shoe sole quotation starts with a clear specification. A model number alone may not identify the finish, number of colors, size combination or development work required. For a footwear factory, those details also help the supplier review whether the proposed sole suits the upper and last already being developed.

This checklist explains what to send when requesting a quotation from KAJA. It applies to sole components for further footwear manufacturing; finished shoes are not included.

1. Identify the Model or Reference Design

If you have chosen a KAJA model, include its model number and a screenshot or reference image. If you are comparing several styles, list each model separately. For custom development, send the drawings, technical specifications or physical sample available for review.

Explain the intended footwear application and any features that are important to your project. A supplier can review your request more accurately when the reference design and intended construction are considered together.

2. List the Sizes You Actually Need

Provide the required sizes and the quantity for each size. Existing mold sizes vary by model, so the available size list should be checked on the individual product page. A size appearing in a general development range does not mean that every model already has tooling for it.

KAJA accepts development requests within EU 22–46. Some requested sizes may require new molds. If a developed size does not show a confirmed website price, include it in your inquiry for review.

3. Confirm Construction and Finish

State the selected sole construction and finish. Where the product page offers multiple construction or painted-detail options, copy the option name and its reference code. Include marked-up reference images if the painted areas need clarification.

For a custom project, explain the proposed materials and the intended relationship between the midsole and ground-contact sections. Any specific material or performance requirements should be supplied for review rather than inferred from a photograph.

4. Provide Color References

On KAJA product pages, “One color,” “Two colors” and “Three colors” describe the number of colors. They do not name a particular color combination. Send your color references and indicate which color belongs to each area of the sole.

If you are reviewing multiple combinations, distinguish them with clear names or reference images. This helps avoid confusing a change in color count with a change in the actual colors.

5. Break Down the Order Quantity

Specify the estimated total quantity in pairs and, where possible, the breakdown by size and color combination. Identify any sample quantity separately from the planned production quantity.

MOQ depends on material, construction, colors, sizes and tooling requirements. It is confirmed for the individual project. Confirm shipping arrangements, quotation terms and the expected schedule with the supplier as part of the discussion.

6. Explain Sampling and Development Needs

Say whether you need samples of an existing style or a new development. Free samples of existing KAJA sole styles are available, with shipping paid by the customer. New tooling and samples for undeveloped designs are arranged separately.

Include relevant upper and last information so compatibility can be reviewed before production. If testing is required, state the targets and testing arrangements. Customers arrange testing, and KAJA works with the feedback to adjust formulations toward agreed targets.
